Zomato appoints Aditya Mangla as CEO of food delivery business
Eternal — the parent company of Zomato — has named Aditya Mangla as the chief executive officer of its food ordering and delivery business, according to a regulatory filing on Sunday. Mangla takes over from Rakesh Ranjan and will serve a two-year term, effective July 6.
Currently serving as head of product for food delivery at Eternal, Mangla brings a strong internal track record to the role. Since joining the company in March 2021, he has held key leadership positions including head of supply and head of customer experience. In these roles, he focused on strengthening the company’s restaurant partner network and improving customer engagement across its digital platforms.
The appointment underscores Eternal’s continued emphasis on promoting leaders from within who have demonstrated a deep understanding of the business and its operational complexities.
The leadership change comes amid a period of increased competitive pressure and rising costs for the company. In the fourth quarter of FY25, Zomato’s advertising expenses jumped 63% year-over-year to Rs 634 crore, while net profit slipped to Rs 39 crore.
With Mangla at the helm, Eternal’s food delivery business will aim to navigate this challenging landscape by building on its core strengths in customer experience and partner relationships — areas Mangla has already led during his tenure.
