One UI 7 Debuts with Galaxy S25 Series—Redesign & AI Features
Samsung officially rolled out One UI 7—based on Android 15—with the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge beginning January 22, 2025. Starting April 11, 2025, the update became available to the Galaxy S24 and Z6 series, followed by broader rollout through Q2 across Galaxy S22/23, Z Fold/Flip, and select A-series phones. One UI 7 introduces a comprehensive visual overhaul: redesigned icons, widgets, camera app interface, lock screen, and a dual-panel Quick Settings layout loosely inspired by iOS’s Control Center.
The AI-powered Galaxy AI suite integrates intelligent tools such as Now Brief (daily info summary), Now Bar (dynamic lock‑screen toolbar), Circle to Search, AI Select, call transcription, and cross‑app actions for seamless task completion across apps—powered by Samsung’s native models and Google Gemini integration. Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and a Personal Data Engine for contextual personalization round out the feature set. The redesign aims to improve usability with smoother animations, updated gestures, and refreshed system sounds. One UI 7 is described by Samsung as its most sophisticated update yet. The new interface debuted with S25 flagships, then gradually extended to older devices through May–June 2025.
