Amazon Managed Grafana now allows the creation of new workspaces using Grafana version 12.4. This update incorporates features from open source Grafana versions 11.0 to 12.4, such as Drilldown apps, dashboards powered by scenes, variables in transformations, enhanced visualizations, and updates to the Amazon CloudWatch plugin.
The new Queryless Drilldown apps enable users to explore Prometheus metrics, Loki logs, Tempo traces, and Pyroscope profiles through a simple point-and-click interface. The Scenes-powered rendering engine significantly enhances dashboard performance. Additionally, Amazon CloudWatch Logs now supports PPL and SQL queries, cross-account Metrics Insights, and log anomaly detection.
The table visualization has been redesigned to improve performance, featuring CSS cell styling and interactive Action buttons. Users can also benefit from trendline transformations and navigation bookmarks for better data exploration. Grafana 12.4 is available in all AWS regions where Amazon Managed Grafana is generally accessible.
New Amazon Managed Grafana workspaces can be created via the AWS Console, SDK, or CLI. For a detailed list of new features, users are encouraged to consult the user documentation.
