Oracle Database@AWS expands to twelve AWS regions

Oracle Database@AWS has extended its availability to twelve AWS Regions, including new regions in Europe and Asia Pacific, enhancing data residency options and high availability for customers.

Oracle Database@AWS is now generally accessible in five more AWS Regions, expanding its reach to include EU-West-1 (Dublin), EU-West-2 (London), AP-South-1 (Mumbai), AP-South-2 (Hyderabad), and AP-Northeast-2 (Seoul). This service allows customers to utilize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) managed Oracle Exadata systems directly within AWS data centers. With this expansion, businesses in Europe and the Asia Pacific that have specific in-region data residency requirements can now transition their on-premises Oracle Exadata and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) applications to AWS with greater ease.

The regions of Dublin, Mumbai, and Hyderabad are equipped with two Availability Zones (AZs) each, while London and Seoul each have one Availability Zone. Furthermore, the CA-Central-1 (Canada Central) and AP-Southeast-2 (Sydney) regions now also feature two Availability Zones, which enhances the high availability of production workloads.

This latest expansion brings the total number of regions where Oracle Database@AWS services are available to twelve. These regions include US-East-1 (N. Virginia), US-West-2 (Oregon), US-East-2 (Ohio), CA-Central-1 (Canada Central), EU-Central-1 (Frankfurt), EU-West-1 (Dublin), EU-West-2 (London), AP-Northeast-1 (Tokyo), AP-Southeast-2 (Sydney), AP-South-1 (Mumbai), AP-South-2 (Hyderabad), and AP-Northeast-2 (Seoul).

To utilize Oracle Database@AWS services, customers need to request a private offer from Oracle via the AWS Marketplace. Once the offer is accepted, the AWS Management Console can be used to set up and manage databases.
