Second-generation Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP expands to more regions
Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP’s second-generation file systems are now available in four more AWS Regions, enhancing scalability and performance options for users.
The second-generation Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP file systems are now accessible in four additional AWS Regions: Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad), South America (Sao Paulo), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). Amazon FSx simplifies the process of launching, operating, and scaling high-performance, feature-rich file systems in the cloud, offering both cost efficiency and ease of use.
The newer FSx for ONTAP file systems provide enhanced performance scalability and flexibility compared to the first-generation systems. Users can now create or extend file systems with up to 12 highly-available (HA) pairs of file servers. This capability supports workloads with up to 72 GBps of throughput and 1 PiB of provisioned SSD storage.
With this geographic expansion, second-generation FSx for ONTAP file systems are now available in several AWS Regions, including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (N. California, Oregon), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Spain, Stockholm, Zurich), South America (Sao Paulo), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). Users have the option to create second-generation Multi-AZ file systems with a single HA pair or Single-AZ file systems with up to 12 HA pairs.
