AWS Service Catalog expands to New Zealand and Calgary regions
AWS Service Catalog is now available in the Asia Pacific (New Zealand) and Canada West (Calgary) regions, enhancing access to approved Infrastructure as Code products.
AWS Service Catalog is now accessible to customers in two additional regions: Asia Pacific (New Zealand) and Canada West (Calgary). This service allows users to create, manage, and distribute catalogs of approved Infrastructure as Code (IaC) products for deployment on AWS. Administrators can use AWS CloudFormation or other IaC tools like Terraform to define these products, which can vary from a single compute instance to a fully configured multi-tier application.
With AWS Service Catalog, customers can share portfolios of approved products across different AWS accounts and organizational units via AWS Organizations. This feature provides engineers, database administrators, data scientists, and other users with consistent self-service access to governed AWS resources within their organization.
The service also allows organizations to apply launch and template constraints to manage how products are provisioned. It enables the management of product versions as they evolve and controls access based on individuals, groups, or cost centers using AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM). Enterprises, system integrators, and managed service providers use AWS Service Catalog to efficiently organize, govern, and provision resources on AWS at scale.
