Amazon Quick Sight introduces sheet tooltips for enhanced data exploration
Amazon Quick Sight introduces sheet tooltips, enhancing data exploration by providing detailed insights without disrupting analysis. This feature is now available in all regions where Quick Sight is supported.
Amazon Quick Sight has introduced a new feature called sheet tooltips, designed to provide users with rich and contextual details without interrupting their data analysis. By using sheet tooltips, authors can create specialized tooltip sheets that include visuals, text boxes, and images, all arranged in a customizable layout. When a viewer hovers over a specific data point, the tooltip sheet automatically adopts all filters from the original visual and adds a filter for that particular data point, offering a quick and focused insight.
This update aims to help organizations design more intuitive dashboards, minimizing the need for multiple sheets or manual navigation. For instance, a bar chart displaying sales by product category can now show a trend line of monthly sales, a key performance indicator (KPI) for year-over-year growth, and a text box with the category name, all filtered to the category the viewer is exploring. Authors have the flexibility to assign a single tooltip sheet to multiple visuals and can switch between basic, detailed, and sheet tooltip types as needed. Additionally, tables and pivot tables are compatible with this feature. It’s important to note that sheet tooltips are only available on interactive sheets.
This new feature is now accessible across all Amazon Quick regions where Quick Sight is available. For more information on how to utilize sheet tooltips in Amazon Quick Sight and to read further details about this feature, visit our blog post.
