AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery is now available in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, providing data sovereignty solutions for critical workload protection. This service offers rapid recovery with minimal downtime and data loss.

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) has been launched in the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, offering organizations with data sovereignty needs the capability to safeguard their essential workloads through disaster recovery on AWS. AWS DRS is designed to minimize downtime and data loss by providing fast and reliable recovery for both on-premises and cloud-based applications. It achieves this by utilizing cost-effective storage, minimal computing resources, and point-in-time recovery, with Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) measured in seconds and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) typically within minutes.

With AWS DRS, applications can be recovered from various infrastructures, including physical servers, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud environments. The service employs a unified process for testing, recovery, and failback across a wide array of applications. This includes critical databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server, as well as enterprise applications like SAP.
