Amazon Connect expands attachment size limit and custom file type options

Amazon Connect has expanded its attachment file size limit to 100 MB and introduced options for custom file types, enhancing communication capabilities for various industries.

Amazon Connect has increased the maximum file size for attachments in chat, cases, and tasks to 100 MB, a significant increase from the previous limit of 20 MB. This update allows administrators to not only enable these larger file sizes but also configure custom file extensions for attachments across various communication methods such as chat, email, cases, and tasks. These configurations can be managed through the Amazon Connect admin website or via Amazon Connect APIs.

This enhancement is particularly beneficial for technology companies that support enterprise clients, as they can now receive larger files like diagnostic bundles and log archives through chat. This capability is expected to streamline communication and help agents resolve customer issues more efficiently. Similarly, financial services firms can benefit by allowing customers to attach important documents, such as signed contracts or compliance paperwork, directly in chat or email, thus facilitating smoother transactions.

The expanded attachment features are available in several AWS Regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and multiple regions across Asia Pacific, Africa, Canada, and Europe, such as Mumbai, Seoul, Osaka, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Cape Town, Central Canada, Frankfurt, and London.

For more detailed information and guidance on enabling these features, users are encouraged to visit the Amazon Connect website and refer to the “Enable Attachments” section in the Amazon Connect Administrator Guide.
