AWS introduces UPI scan and pay feature for Indian customers
AWS has launched UPI Scan and Pay for Indian customers, simplifying sign-ups and payments by using a QR code with UPI mobile apps. This feature supports automatic monthly payments up to INR 15,000.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced a new payment option for its customers in India, allowing them to use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Scan and Pay feature for signing up and making payments. UPI is a widely used payment system in India that enables quick and seamless bank-to-bank transfers via mobile devices connected to the internet. This new feature enhances the payment process by letting customers scan a QR code displayed on the AWS Console with their UPI-enabled mobile app, such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or Amazon Pay. This eliminates the need to manually input a UPI ID, making the process more secure, convenient, and less prone to errors.
The introduction of the Scan and Pay option aligns with the common usage of UPI for daily transactions in India, providing a frictionless experience for AWS users. Customers can also opt for UPI AutoPay through the Scan and Pay feature, allowing for automatic monthly payments up to INR 15,000. To utilize this feature, customers need to log in to the AWS Console and choose UPI as their preferred payment method either during the sign-up process or when making a payment. Once selected, a QR code appears on the screen, which users can scan with their UPI mobile app to verify and complete the transaction.
This development is part of AWS’s efforts to streamline payment processes and cater to the preferences of its Indian customer base. For more details on using this payment method, customers can refer to the “Managing Payment Methods in India” section on the AWS website.
