Network18 extends lead over Times Internet as India’s top news platform: ComScore May data

Network18 has cemented its position as India’s leading news network, outpacing Times Internet Limited by a wide margin in digital reach, according to ComScore’s May MMX Report.

The latest data shows Network18 attracting a massive 300.35 million unique visitors (UVs) in May, reaching 67% of India’s digital population. In contrast, Times Internet recorded 217.83 million UVs with a 48% reach, firmly establishing Network18’s dominance in the news genre.

This marks the third consecutive month of Network18’s leadership over its closest competitor. In March, Network18 drew 315 million UVs compared to Times Internet’s 203 million, while in April, Network18 reached 321 million UVs against Times Internet’s 196 million.

Among individual platforms, News18.com continued its commanding performance with 245 million UVs in May, significantly ahead of The Times of India, which garnered 200 million UVs. News18.com has led this digital race consistently, recording 251 million UVs in March and 283 million in April, while The Times of India trailed with 182 million and 173 million UVs respectively.

Beyond digital, Network18 has also reinforced its dominance on television. Its flagship English news channel CNN-News18 has held the No. 1 spot for over three years, while News18 India remains the most-watched Hindi news channel nationwide. Its regional language channels continue to enjoy strong viewership across markets as well.

With its unmatched reach across screens, languages, and geographies, Network18 has demonstrated its influence and trust as India’s most comprehensive news network — a position strengthened by its consistent performance across both digital and broadcast platforms.
